Testimony in Support of Linguistic Appropriate Mental Health Services

Today, Stephanie Tabashneck of the MSPP Advocacy Committee provided oral testimony at a public hearing before the Joint Committee on Mental Health and Substance Abuse in the Massachusetts State House. This bill would set a precedent in the field by requiring health care organizations provide patients with a mental health professional who speaks their preferred language.  This bill was introduced by the Honorable State Representative Jeffrey Sanchez who has been a passionate supporter of the unique mental health needs of ethnic minorities.
