No More Excuses - Repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Now
Letter to the Editor of The Boston Globe: On Veteran’s Day, I asked myself what I wanted to celebrate. As a former Marine, I was glad to see so many reflecting on the sacrifices of service members past and present. I was also glad to see reports on the results of the Pentagon’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell working group. 70 percent of respondents to a survey sent to active-duty and reserve troops said the effect of repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy would be positive, mixed or nonexistent. The leaked report concludes what I already knew as a proud Marine: our country has the finest professional military in the world, one that won’t be harmed by all our sisters and brothers serving openly and honestly. As an ally and supporter of equality, I would hope that our Senators would also celebrate the results of this report and make this “Lame Duck” session of congress less lame: Repeal DADT Now!
