Adult ADHD
Many emerging adults who have struggled with attention, concentration, and executive functioning their whole childhood and adolescence discover they have Attention-Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how the brain develops and functions, making it difficult for individuals to focus, stay organized, and control impulses. ADHD starts in childhood and can persist into adulthood. A diagnostic report and clinical recommendations are provided to support individuals pursuing accommodations.
Autism Spectrum Disorder
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), commonly referred to as autism, is a lifelong neurological and developmental condition that impacts how individuals communicate, interact, and learn. It's characterized by persistent difficulties in social communication and interaction, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities. The expression of autism varies greatly, with some individuals needing significant support while others live independently. Dr. Matos provides adults with an initial evaluation and appropriate referral for comprehensive testing and educational supports, as needed.
Diagnostic Evaluation
Dr. Matos also provides evaluations and assessments for mood disorders (depression, anxiety), PTSD, OCD, Bipolar Spectrum conditions, and attachment/relationship development issues.
